Updated Decks for Anki 2

Hi everyone,

A new version of Anki has been released. If you use Anki, you should download the new version .

I've posted a new Anki 2 file that has all of the decks that I used to study throughout MS1-2 and for Step 1. It's all compiled into one single deck. No need to download each one individually anymore. All the media is bundled inside that one file.

Just download Anki 2. Go to file > import and select the deck. That's it.

I'm going to take the old decks down so that people can use the most recent decks. I continually make edits.

You'll notice a new deck - Step 1 cram deck. I made that while studying for Step 1. It's a random jumble of factoids I picked up from UWorld, USMLERx or NBME exams. So it's high yield stuff, just not very organized.

Good luck!

  1. Hi, thanks for posting this. When I tried to import it, I got this error:

    Import failed.

BadZipfile: File is not a zip file

I did not get this error when I downloaded a deck and imported it from the anki shared decks repository: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/3282835125.

If you don't know what the problem is, I can post to the anki help forum instead.

  2. Hey, do you know if it is possible to compare or diff your new deck with your old one? I've been using your old deck for Physiology in Anki 2 and have also been making edits to some of the cards, but it would be nice to get your edits in there too without losing my performance data. Thanks!

  6. Hi Alex,

Thank you for making your deck available - and for introducing Anki! I just recently discovered your blog, and I really enjoy your writing. I'm currently having a great time reading up on your posts. I hope you continue with the blog through your future exams - and I hope the best for your result on Step 1!

    Thank you,
Jesper, a medical student from Denmark

    1. Hey Max. I my score back, and I was exceedingly pleased, but I'm debating whether it's a smart idea to have my step 1 score forever on the internet, especially since I'm not really anonymous. I've got nothing to hide, but I just don't know if it's wise.

  8. What settings do you use for decks on Anki2? All the new ones confuse me!

  9. Hi DrWillbe,

Just found this blog. Amazing work! I'm an MS2 and I've told my school about how awesome Anki is and trying to get 1st years to do it too. Worked wonders with histo and neuroscience. And now with micro and pharm.

I'm currently an MS2 -- about to take Step 1 in 5 months or so.
I've been using Anki 1. I just DL Anki2 and I was wondering how I can use the "Cram" feature. I've always used Cram (instead of Review). Also, I've used Dropbox to hold my Anki files and my Public folder for the Media folders. Do you know where I should move them to see the images?
Also, I was wondering if you made cards for Pathoma.

    Thanks a lot again!

  10. Hi DrWillBe!

I wanted to use your "internal med" anki deck while I was waiting for your path cards but the current one in dropbox doesn't seem to work with the new anki 2.0.8 upgrade. :( It looks like someone posted about it last November- were you guys able to figure out what happened?

    Thanks so much!

    1. Hi. Sorry you're having a hard time. It works for me on Anki 2.08. But I just re-exported. Try it now. If it doesn't work, perhaps it's something with your computer.

      Good luck!
